This Basic Laparoscopy workshop is aimed at surgeons with minimal previous laparoscopic experience (e.g. registrars and junior specialists) using box trainer simulation. It is intended to develop the fundamentals of laparoscopic surgery i.e. camera navigation, hand eye co-ordination, dexterity and the basics of laparoscopic suturing and needle handling, as well as an introduction to the use of energy devices. It is aimed at developing the skills for minor laparoscopic procedures like laparoscopic salpingectomies for ectopic pregnancy and laparoscopic sterilisations, simulated on biological specimens. (Max capacity 18 delegates)
